Welcome
My name is Hannah (She/Her).
I offer life exploration, counselling and psychotherapy in Central London and Online.
I am an integrative therapist registered with the BACP working in-person with adults (18+) from rooms in South Kensington, Queens Park and online.
HOW I WORK
My aim is to help you make sense of your experiences so that with awareness you can start to make conscious choices and decisions that will help you to achieve what you want out of life. I believe that the collaborative journey of therapy is helpful in times of distress but also appropriate for those who would simply like to explore their circumstances, behaviours and worldview in order to lead a more fulfilling life.
I practice integratively which means that I draw on a range of different theories to help inform my approach. I do not believe in a “one size fits all” methodology and tailor how I work to each individual client’s needs. I take the view that both our relationship with ourselves and our relationships with others are key to our happiness. I am particularly influenced by attachment-based and psychodynamic theories which help us understand how current feelings and behaviour are shaped by past experiences, often unconsciously. I consider it paramount to pay attention to how we are impacted not only by our family culture but by wider culture and societal influences.
For me, the client is the expert in their own life and given the right conditions all human beings have the capacity for positive growth within them.
I welcome clients of all identities, cultures, faiths, genders, sexualities, health conditions and (dis)abilities. I am committed to non-discriminatory practice.
I maintain a strict code of conduct in respect of client confidentiality and adhere to the code of conduct of the BACP.
MY BACKGROUND
I qualified as a therapist at The Minster Centre in London, which is one of Europe’s leading institutions for integrative psychotherapy training. I have worked with a large range of clients with varied concerns and have experience in delivering both open-ended and time-limited therapy.
Before training as a therapist, I was a corporate lawyer for some years followed by roles in luxury and financial communications. I have a comprehensive understanding of the pressures of academic and corporate life as well as a keen interest in all types of relational dynamics both personal and professional.
WHAT TO EXPECT
INITIAL CONTACT AND CALL
If you are interested in finding out more then we can have a 15minute introductory phone call. This quick call would cover how I work, your needs and desires for therapy and what you would like to achieve. It helps us to then decide if you would like to proceed with a first introductory session.
INTRODUCTORY SESSION
In the first session we would discuss more about your background, what has brought you here and what you would like to gain from the space. We would use it to see what it might be like working together and if we are the right fit. Finding the right therapist for you is arguably the most important part of the therapy. After this session we can decide whether we would like to commit to further sessions.
This session is charged at the usual fee.
WAYS OF WORKING
Work together can either be time limited (between 6-12 sessions) or more long term. The length of the therapy is always tailored to the specific needs of the client. This along with specific goals and focus can be explored in the first session session.
LOCATION AND FEES
I work with adults (18+) from therapy rooms in South Kensington (SW7) on Tuesdays, and Queen’s Park (NW6) on Wednesdays.
Sessions are 50mins long and fees are £80 for South Kensington and £65 for Queen’s Park.
I have some concessionary rates - please do enquire if any are available.
Queen’s Park is wheelchair accessible but South Kensington is not.
